YRNO Tornado Relief

On Tuesday, February 7th, 2017 New Orleans East was hit by a massive tornado, destroying 940 homes in the area. As a nonprofit rebuilding organization, we recruit and train thousands of youth volunteers each year for moments like this tornado, and YRNO has already received over 20 inquiries and requests for help homeowners with limited means to rebuild. We need donations and volunteers to continue this work.

YRNO is coordinating and mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to help clean up debris and protect the 20+ homes and homeowners we know in New Orleans East from further damage. For many families, this is the second or third time facing massive cleanup costs, and YRNO’s volunteers will ease the burden each day we work.

We can’t do this alone. We ask for your contributions to purchase supplies for this volunteer effort: additional gloves, hammers and water for volunteers, a new generator to power the saws-all needed for cleanup, garbage bags for debris, and tarps to cover exposed roofs. We have a GoFundMe Campaign to raise the funds necessary to do this work: https://www.gofundme.com/YRNO-tornado-relief

We appreciate any amount you can contribute. If you’d like to come out and volunteer this weekend in New Orleans East with Youth Rebuilding New Orleans, please fill out the form below.
