YRNO Offers Opportunity For Students And Teachers To Volunteer

Youth Rebuilding New Orleans is proud to offer local students and teachers an opportunity to volunteer in the community. Partnering with various high schools in the area, YRNO allows students to complete service hours and build skills for the future. From participating in general volunteering activities to coordinating larger events, participants are able to gain valuable experience for their academic and professional careers.

Many New Orleans students are required to complete service hours each year. By partnering with the following schools, our organization makes it easy for students to find opportunities that are educational, as well as fun. YRNO partners with:

Mount Carmel Academy
- Science and Math Academy (Sci)
- Jesuit High School
- Ben Franklin High School
- O. Perry Walker
- Archbishop Rummel

As a non-profit organization, our primary goal is to build and provide housing for teachers in the area. Letting students partake in this experience gives them the chance to feel a sense of accomplishment in doing something for their community. Best of all, volunteers don’t need any experience to help out! Just enthusiasm and the passion to make a difference.

Volunteering with YRNO provides students with the opportunity to learn how to use tools and work with their hands, as well as develop communication skills by interacting with others on worksites.
