Introducing Prince, YRNO’s New Executive Director

Hello YRNO family,
My name is Dwayne “Prince” Holmes Jr. I am proud to be writing you today to introduce myself as the next Executive Director at Youth Rebuilding New Orleans (YRNO). There is no greater honor than to have the opportunity to work in partnership with and on behalf of youth of New Orleans. For 5 years, I have had the pleasure of working alongside our youth and just about every volunteer; it has been an amazing journey and a true testimony to what hard work and perseverance can achieve.

I am grateful to have been a part of a team that showcases the many capabilities of our youth. The experience that I have gained at YRNO has both humbled and prepared me for the Executive Director position.

I have been blessed with a platform where I can bring attention to social inequalities in our community while also employing and empowering youth, honing in on and nourishing their natural skills and abilities. I plan to continue to promote youth leadership, provide a platform where young people can display their greatness and house the teachers who also share an important role in preparing our youth for greatness.

I can’t do this without your help. I challenge you, the community and national supporters to step up and help Youth Rebuilding New Orleans fulfill its mission to the community. This challenge requires you to make a commitment to support YRNO’s mission by contributing a monetary donation. Your support will enable us to provide more opportunities for youth and to continue to help and beautify New Orleans’ neighborhoods. To donate, visit http://yrno.com/donate/

Now a little about myself; I was born and raised in Algiers, Louisiana. After graduating from Edna Karr High School, I joined Youth Rebuilding New Orleans while I pursued my B/S in criminal justice at Southern University at New Orleans. During my 5 year tenure with YRNO, I have assisted with the rehabilitation of over 300 homes and positively impacted thousands of youth.

I look forward to bumping into some familiar faces and meeting more youth and volunteers soon. I hope that you’ll continue to stay engaged and walk with us in our mission. As awesome as our team is, we are nothing without the support of our community and volunteers. Again, I encourage you all to:

-Volunteer at one of our sites. In doing so, you’ll meet our neighbors and get a better understanding of what is still needed in the community while also physically seeing the impact that YRNO (and you) have made in the community.

-Advertise YRNO by sporting YRNO Merchandise. We have YRNO shirts and stickers that can be purchased through my email: prince@yrno.com

-Make individual contributions/donations. We can never have enough tools and supplies.

As always, I leave you all by encouraging you all to stay fresh.
Dwayne “Prince” Holmes Jr,
Executive Director.
