Construction is almost complete at South Hennessey where volunteers have turned a blighted house into a new home. With their help we constructed a deck, new fence, repaired the roof, cut down unwanted trees, repaired the siding, refinished the hardwood floors, painted the interior, and countless other projects.
The house, a two bedroom and one bath double, is located just blocks from Jesuit High School in Mid-city. Work began on Saturday February 5th to begin rehabbing the house to make it ready for a teacher. This house is perfect for any teacher that is interested in living in one side and renting out the other to help cover the costs of the mortgage.
