Sci Academy Spring 2016 Interns

This spring YRNO has the pleasure of welcoming four student interns from one of our partner schools, Sci Academy. Antonio, D’Juan, Charles and Thomas work for YRNO twice a week for training in construction in an effort to prepare to enter the workforce. They work either in small groups or one-on-one with our full time construction staff on site to learn construction skills necessary to supplement the work of the volunteers and full time staff. Non-profit’s Plan for Coffee Shop Receives Approval

YRNO received unanimous approval by City Council for plans to bring a coffee shop and office space to St. Ann Street.  

YRNO Wins $37,000 in the Super Service Challenge

Recently, YRNO won $37,000 in the 2015 Super Service Challenge. Founded in 2011 in Indianapolis, The Super Service Challenge’s mission is to promote philanthropic giving and corporate service. Drew Brees and the Brees Dream Foundation brought the Challenge to New Orleans in 2012, and that first year nonprofits around New Orleans received over 1 million dollars from surrounding businesses and corporations, including YRNO. Each year since 2012, YRNO has participated in the Super Service Challenge and benefitted from the Challenge donations.
